The Neurological Health Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) public charity committed to the prevention of neurological illness in children as well as empowering parents to have children who reach their full neurological potential.
In the past 60 years, the incidence of autism, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, and other neurological conditions have increased dramatically. In fact, the chance of having an autistic child in the 1950s was virtually non-existent. According to Autism Speaks, the largest autism advocacy not for profit in the US, as well as the Center for Diseases Control (CDC) the chances are now approximately 1 in 88. Researchers have not identified a single cause for this dramatic change; however, evidence indicates that the increase of preservatives in processed foods, buildup of chemicals in our water supply, and increased pollution in urban areas all may be factors affecting the trend. click here to learn more.
